Phd opportunities.
Our Application cycle for PhDs starting in September 2025 is now open. All applications should be submitted through the KCL application portal (specify EPAP group) – application link
We anticipate 1-2 fully funded studentships (covering fees and maintenance stipend at the UKRI rate for 3.5 years) with opportunity for both UK and international candidates. We will define our priority project areas when all funding is confirmed, but at this point we welcome applications expressing interest in any area of our research. We will consider all applications against all positions (taking any eligibility constraints into account).

Additionally, we are keen to recruit students through the Kings-China Scholarship Council (K-CSC) scheme and other international funding opportunities (see below for links). We are also keen to help applicants from under-represented groups apply for the Bell Burnell graduate scholarship fund (also linked below). If you are interested in applying through different international funding schemes such as KCSC or self-funding please contact us by email as early as you can.

In addition to first class supervision on a range of exciting PhD topics in these areas, all EPAP PhD students will receive comprehensive training through the University of London Particle Physics Postgraduate Lecture Course during their first year and access to the NEXT PhD School. All students are provided with a laptop for their studies.
Please submit applications before 31st January in the year of entry (specify EPAP group in your application). We welcome applications to work on any of our main research projects and will consider all applications against any available funded positions when we shortlist in February.

PhD projects in the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences become available all year round. You can browse through the current opportunities in each of our research centres below, alongside faculty projects offered through funded studentship schemes.

Application Deadline. Tuesday, 31st December 2024. Late applications may be considered if positions remain available. The Department of Informatics at King's College London is offering 20 fully funded PhD studentships, beginning on 1 October 2025.

Five PhD fellowships funded by Wellcome will be awarded each year for five years, with the first cohort starting in October 2022. In addition, at least two further PhD fellowships, funded by King's College London, will be awarded over the life of the programme.
